Mainframe COBOL Developer

We are looking for a COBOL Developer to work with a major player in the banking sector on strategic applications related to core business systems.
You will participate in the development and maintenance of critical systems that process large volumes of data in an environment that demands reliability, performance and security.
Your daily routine as a Cobol mainframe developer:
Working alongside architects, product owners and technical teams, you will be responsible for:
- Analysing business requirements and drafting technical specifications
- Participating in the ongoing maintenance and corrective maintenance of COBOL applications
- Developing and upgrading COBOL programmes in a mainframe environment
- Performing unit tests and supporting acceptance testing phases
- Optimising batch processing and application performance
- Monitoring production rollouts
- Participating in the continuous improvement of applications and development practices
You will work in a mainframe (z/OS) environment at the heart of banking information systems.
We are a good fit if you have the following skills:
- You have 3 to 10 years of experience in COBOL development.
- You are proficient in COBOL on a mainframe environment.
- You are familiar with JCL, DB2, and CICS tools and environments.
- You are comfortable with batch and transactional processing
- Ideally, you have experience in the banking or financial sector
- You are rigorous, autonomous and sensitive to critical environments
Knowledge of Agile methodologies, DevOps environments or version management tools is a plus.
